Update
I miss crafting a lot....now, at this very moment, I'm missing my sewing machines so much. They are at my mum's house... we, my mum and me, were using it for our 'baju kurung' projects. Since it was at the verge of Eid.. (most of the activities will be around sewing clothes and curtain).
I've been doing a lot during this 'blog-sleeping' period. I managed to finish Myra's pink cheerleader's skirt as well as for sweet Zara... Myra's baju kurung for Eid, mine ---- 3 baju kurungs...perrgggh.. though they were not perfectly sewn like the one that I bought from boutique, I'm quite satisfied with the result (since that tehy fit me well..huhu)... who cares, the imperfect features that made it perfect for me!! (feeling like to hug my baju kurungs now...hahaha).
Will slowly update the blog with pictures of my crafting journey. My house renovation is still in progress. Done with the kitchen cabinets. Haven't finish painting the doors (all) in white. Just done with the wall (all sides except for one) olive green, though the color is a bit more serengeti like.
One feature wall is painted a bit darker green. This side will be my sewing corner. Next to the dining table, which will occasionally converted into fabrics cutting table. A bit small but I've already have some idea on how its going to look like after installing a couple of white shelves and transparent jars to put in my buttons, pins and other sewing accessories. Can't wait to see the finish stage.
Owh... how I wish that my husband will drive me to my mum's tonight and bring back both machines... until then, I'll make some fabric cutting tonight so that when we take them back this weekend, I'll be ready for piecing my new quilting project. Owh.. did I mentioned that I'm eyeing a new machine to be added to the family! I've paid 1/3 of the total price, later on will be paying it religiously for few months before I can have it... KUTU style...:)) will patiently (errrk) wait for the machine to come....

Birthday Gift for Zikr
It's all because of my eldest son, Zikr, who was about to turn 4 on 22 June, keep asking what is it going to be his birthday gift. So I promised him a cozy quilted blanket, which I thought I could finish making it before or on his birthday, but I only managed to finish it a week after. Luckily, he was okay with it..;)
I studied on piecing, patchworking, quilting and binding process through internet on a week period each (that is why it took a long time to finish!). Youtube has helped me a lot in this case. Nice videos on how-to on everything!

This is the quilting in progress, finished piecing, just before quilting...owh..I used regular sewing machine with almost zero tension and the most sewing distance for this process. At a very slow speed.

This is the finished product with his name on it. I manually sewn using felt fabrics (plus my label 'MYZARA' at the bottom right). He insisted to put a 'V' alphabet instead of 'R' and don't ask me because I have no idea why. It was really hard to make him understand that his name doesn't have a 'V'...:)...At the end, he was quite happy with the gift and been using it every night since then. I also like the wrinkled features appeared after washing it.
This is the happy little boy who turn 4 last June. Ignore the milk bottle in the photo...he is so not ready to let it go just yet!
For this quilt:
Piecing: 5 nights, patchwork: 2 nights, quilting: 2 saturdays, binding: 1 day
Owh... I did some drawing using CADVANCE software before doing this. I'll show them next time.

Let it begins...
This special place will be my sewing room. I love blogging and has been doing that for quite some time, nearly five years. I used to sew, break from sew and start back sewing recently since my baby girl Myra was borned last year. The first time I looked at her, I decided to sew her beautiful dresses and it has been my crazziness for a while now and it is unstoppable!
When my first niece Zara arrived 26 days later, the crazziness doubling alright!
and this is my sewing journey...a long way learning journey for both girls (at this point..:) )
